Jo, did you get all the gloop out? Next time (will there be a next time?) leave crockpot on overnight--with water of course. By morning, it should all be loosened off of your insert.
Aha! That would have been a much better idea. I did get it out in the end by pouring lots of boiling water from the kettle and heaps of elbow grease! Will remember for next time - but then hopefully there wont be a next time! :)
